The 18-year-old golfer and granddaughter of President Donald Trump recently revealed that her trip to the 2026 Masters took an unexpected turn after she suffered an allergic reaction that left her needing medical treatment.

Describing the experience as “so, so scary,” Kai shared how a simple skincare mistake turned into a stressful moment during one of golf’s biggest events.

Kai, who has committed to play collegiate golf at the University of Miami, spoke about the incident in a recent YouTube vlog while preparing for her senior prom. According to the New York Post, the issue began when she used hand soap on her face to remove makeup while staying in Augusta for the tournament. 

At first, she noticed small bumps appearing on her neck, but the reaction quickly became more serious. “I was using hand soap on my face, when I was at Augusta, to wash off my makeup and I started getting these bumps on my neck, ” Kai explained. As the irritation worsened, she had to get a steroid shot to control the reaction.

She later reassured followers that the rash had cleared, saying, “Now, I don’t have a rash anymore, but I had an allergic reaction to the hand soap on my face. I have very sensitive skin. It was so, so scary.” Her candid account gave followers a glimpse into the less glamorous side of attending a major sporting event. 

Despite the scare, Kai still made the most of her time at the Masters. She spent time at Augusta National, shared moments from the tournament on social media, and was spotted with golfers including Bryson DeChambeau and his caddie Greg Bodine. She later called Augusta her favorite golf tournament and publicly congratulated Rory McIlroy after his Masters victory.

Kai, the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, has been gaining attention in the golf world as she prepares for the next stage of her career. Her commitment to the University of Miami marks an important step as she continues to pursue the sport competitively.
